Spanish contemporary furniture company Sancal renovated its HQ in Yecla, Murcia in late 2015. A varied selection of its furniture can be found in its interior.
The company needed a work environment in keeping with its philosophy of designing products that create inviting spaces that make us feel at home. Indeed, it continues to give its own office spaces a human touch, having started to do so in 2013 with several murals commemorating its 40th anniversary. With the redesign, it chose to break up the former office’s regimented layout, knock down the walls which carved it up into separate workspaces, opt for colour as a key hallmark of the refurbished space and furnish it with its own products to showcase their versatility, encouraging its employees to test out their functionality.
Uno de los grandes aciertos de esta renovación es el proyecto realizado por las interioristas Eva Plaza y Eva Torrecillas del estudio de decoración “Taza & Tacillas”, un juego ideado con el caprichoso estampado de la moqueta para trazar senderos
One major success of this renovation is a project by Taza & Tacillas decoration studio, undertaken by interior designers Eva Plaza and Eva Torrecillas, comprising a carpet with a whimsical print of paths leading to different parts of the workplace, which creates the effect of an office ‘garden’. Here flowerpots form part of a vinyl mural by Malota, the brand of illustrator Mar Hernández. The grass idea continues through the windows and café, and the landscape then calms down, thanks to an illustration created by illustrator and designer Jesús Galváñ. Other standout features are original acoustic domes that hover over the employees’ long desks — which make the space feel simultaneously open and cosy — the Showcase, where the company’s newest, most striking products are displayed, and a meeting area with a forest-like environment at one end.
With the redesign of its corporate HQ, Sancal aims to update its image as a leading Spanish contemporary design brand for all the clients who visit it. Its latest furniture collections can also be seen in its showrooms, La Nave in Belgium and El Garaje in Madrid.
